Our mission is to serve employees, investors, residents, and communities by creating opportunities to give back. Through the foundation, MC Companies supports local and national charities with donations, volunteer programs, and community partnerships that make a lasting impact.
As a privately funded 501(c)(3) nonprofit, the foundation empowers every employee to contribute in ways that matter most — whether through paid volunteer hours, PTO donations, or participation in company-sponsored giving events. At MC Companies, we don’t just talk about making a difference — we create opportunities to do it together.
Autism
At MC Companies, we’re committed to creating communities that embrace and empower individuals with autism. According to the CDC, as of March 2023, approximately 1 in 36 children in the U.S. have been diagnosed with autism, underscoring the importance of awareness, advocacy, and support at every level of society.
Our mission is to ensure that individuals and families affected by autism have access to the resources, education, and community connections they need to lead vibrant, fulfilling lives.
To further this cause, MC Companies proudly partners with the Southwest Autism Research & Resource Center (SARRC). Through ongoing contributions and collaborative initiatives, we help fund programs that advance autism research, education, and inclusion—making a positive impact year after year.
Cystic Fibrosis
MC Companies’ Sharing The Good Life Foundation (SGL) proudly serves as a national corporate sponsor of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, an organization dedicated to improving the lives of those affected by cystic fibrosis (CF).
Cystic fibrosis is a genetic disease that affects the lungs and digestive system, making it difficult for individuals to breathe and maintain their health. For many members of the MC Family, this cause is deeply personal. Supporting the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation reflects our commitment to compassion, community, and finding a cure.
Over the decades, groundbreaking research and medical advancements have dramatically improved outcomes for individuals living with CF—turning what was once a childhood diagnosis into a future filled with possibility. The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation continues to lead the charge in funding research, advancing treatments, and providing critical support to families.
MC Companies is honored to contribute to this mission through fundraising events like Great Strides walks in Arizona and Texas, ongoing donations, and active community involvement. Together, we’re helping make progress toward a world where every individual with cystic fibrosis can live a long, healthy, and fulfilling life.
Move for Hunger for the 2021 Philanthropy Initiative
Move For Hunger
In 2020, MC Companies’ Sharing The Good Life Foundation partnered with the nonprofit Move For Hunger to help combat food insecurity and reduce food waste across the nation. This partnership brings together apartment communities, residents, and moving professionals to make a meaningful difference for families in need.
Each year, millions of pounds of perfectly good food are discarded during moves. Move For Hunger addresses this issue by partnering with multifamily communities and relocation companies to collect unopened, non-perishable food from residents as they move out. The donated items are then delivered to local food banks, ensuring that nutritious food reaches those who need it most.
MC Companies proudly supports Move For Hunger’s food rescue efforts, hosting ongoing food drives and integrating the Move For Hunger model into property operations. Through this collaboration, we continue to raise awareness about hunger relief, prevent food waste, and strengthen communities nationwide.
