SCOTTSDALE, Ariz.– MC Companies believes in not only living the good life, but also sharing the good life. This year, the company decided to challenge their employees to share the good life with the communities they work, live and play in. This is all a part of MC Companies’ Sharing the Good Life Foundation.

“We wanted to create a program that empowers our employees to contribute and really give back to the neighborhoods and communities that we live, work, learn and play in.” says Michelle Sinclair.

The Sharing the Good Life Foundation is a program designed to build strong and vibrant communities, improve quality of life, and make a positive difference where people live, work, learn and play. By working together, everyone can share the good life and build a better world.

On May 17, 2017, employees of MC Companies were given the opportunity to select a charity they are passionate about. Teams were then given five months to raise awareness, gather donations and make an impact. The teams consisted of employees from the Phoenix, Tucson and Dallas regions. To promote their charity, resources such as Facebook, Craigslist and GoFundMe were used to gather donations and spread their message. Between four teams and twenty-one employees, by the end of the challenge, a total of $4,601.07 was raised.

In Phoenix, a team raised funds for AZ Helping Hands, a nonprofit that assists foster families who have stepped up to provide a safe, loving environment for children in the Department of Child Safety system.

In Tucson, one team completed five projects that raised funds for Wings for Women, a program that assists women in the areas of life skills development, community resources, employment, community re-integration and much more. Another team in Tucson worked hand in hand with gathering materials and funds for Books to the Rescue, which is a nonprofit program that touches the lives of children in crisis while promoting literacy.

Finally, in Dallas, a team partnered with City House, a program that provides emergency shelter and transitional residential services to at-risk children and young adults who are in need due to abuse, neglect or homelessness. The team spent the day with the children in the program, taking them to the aquarium and treating them to a lunch at McDonald’s.

MC Companies made a commitment to support the communities that the company operates in and each of these teams showed that they understood that message when they gave back to their communities. This challenge has become a way for employees to feel empowered and like they are making a difference to the organizations and communities that are important to them.

“The Making a Change in Our Communities Challenge is a direct reflection of MC’s values as a company. We are dedicated to growing the communities we operate in, and that means more than just writing a check.” said Sinclair.

MC Companies believes in Sharing the Good Life with its communities through donations and volunteering time to support various local and national charities. Volunteers have a huge positive impact on communities and MC Companies encourages its team members to participate in local volunteer work to support the communities where they live, work, learn and play.
